A) Genre
What is the genre of your script?
The genre of my short film is drama. There are very tense scenes with a lot of drama and build up going on. There are stakes at play which risk the characters lives and they're forced into fighting for their lives.
What are the elements that will appear in your script that follow the forms and conventions of your selected genre?
What are the elements that will appear in your script that follow the forms and conventions of your selected genre?
Drama's elements tend to have tension, scenes of frustration and big choices that are incredibly hard to make. My short film has all of these. There are more conventions to Drama but the main core that make up the drama genre fit into my short film. There's tension from two characters being forced to do something simple which a major consequence. It's played out as if very simple but the audience and characters have to think about every possible outcome.
How will follow or subvert the genre to write an original screenplay?
I will have an interesting twist that isn't a normal twist. normal twists can be obvious or just swap the situation. However, I'm going to have a double twist. The audience will found out what the secret was but there's also another subtle twist thrown in to make the audience even more shocked. There's also a scene where a character is taken away leaving the audience wondering what happened to them.

Test Footage
We filmed test footage for our film, we practised different angles and shots of players shooting basketballs into the hoops. We also tried getting close up shots of the players dribbling and passing the ball to see how dynamic we could make it. Filming test footage also allowed us to get a feel of filming as a group and what the shots would actually look like.
